Principals

Karen has been studying all styles of dance since age six. Karen is a registered Cecchetti teacher and holds the Cecchetti Licentiate. Karen has 30 years teaching experience and is renowned for her commitment and dedication to providing expert tuition in classical ballet. Karen is also a registered teacher with the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet.
Carla has danced since age four and has 30 years teaching experience in all styles of dancing. She holds her Associate and Members Certificates with the Dance Factory Teacher’s Academy. Carla has worked professionally in theatre restaurants and various shows in Melbourne and Sydney including fashion parades and the AFL Footy Show. Choreography and teaching experience includes dance concerts and shows, fashion parades and hair shows, summer schools, universities, primary and secondary schools.

Teaching Staff

Sarah has been studying all styles of dance since she was 6 years old, and has competed in various dance eisteddfods and completed her Cecchetti Classical ballet examinations from Grade 1 to Advanced 1 as well as VCE Dance. Sarah studied at Industry Dance for two years on a full time basis and still attends various classes in Melbourne. In 2010 Sarah successfully completed the Glenn Wood Tap Teaching examination and most recently gained her Cecchetti Associate qualification. Sarah enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion of dance with the students of KC’s School of Dance.
Jess trained with KC’s School of Dance from the age of 4, completing Cecchetti Classical Ballet examinations up to Advanced 1 and competing at eisteddfods in all styles of dance. After high school she trained for two years at Showfit in Melbourne before completing her Bachelor of Music Theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. During her time at WAAPA, Jess work shopped the lead role of Thalia in Matthew Robinson’s Atlantis, as well as playing Serena in ‘Legally Blonde’, Chris Hargensen in ‘Carrie’ and Little Becky in ‘Urinetown’. Since graduating, Jess has appeared alongside Glee and Scream Queens creator Ian Brennan as Macy in the short musical comedy film ‘Library of Love’, as a soloist in Matthew Robinson’s ‘New Voices’ and in Manila Street Productions ‘Nine’ in concert. Jess has been teaching singing, theatre jazz and ballet for 5 years now and is excited to return to KC’s to share her passion for musical theatre.
