Studio Policies

Uniform

    Students are expected to be in uniform for all classes as set out in our uniform lists. Our uniform and all merchandise items should be worn
    proudly and in good condition to reflect a professional attitude and commitment. 

External classes

It is good manners and common courtesy for students to seek permission prior to attending any external classes, workshops and performances outside KCs School of Dance.

It is a conflict of interest for students to be enrolled and attending more than one dance school.

Students are expected to demonstrate 100% commitment and respect to KCs teachers and all fellow students.

It is at the discretion of KCs teaching staff which students may be selected and invited to attend various auditions, classes, competitions and workshops.

Attendance

Regular attendance is necessary for students to achieve the expected level of improvement, technique, skill and advancement to the next level.

Please notify the studio by phone or email if you child is unable to attend class.

Students are encouraged to watch classes if they are injured and are unable to participate in class.

It is an expectation that students demonstrate a focused and positive attitude towards learning while participating in all classes.

Communication

All invoices, newsletters and notifications are emailed to the provided email address at the time of enrolment. It is your responsibility to keep your contact details current at all times.

Parents or guardians are responsible for reading emails of interest and newsletters to ensure you are fully informed of relevant and up to date information.

Behaviour/Conduct

KCs School of Dance promotes a positive environment for students to learn and develop at their own pace. All students have the right to feel comfortable at KCs School of Dance, a supportive attitude from all students and parents is expected.

Negative communications between students and/or parents is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

The use of swearing or disrespectful behaviour is not acceptable on or around studio premises, at special events or on social media.

Damage to studio premises including furnishings, fittings and fixtures is not acceptable.

Small children/siblings in the foyer must be supervised at all times.

    Photographs and videos of other students should not be taken or posted on social media without consent.

    From time to time, KC’s School of Dance use suitable photos or videos for promotion on social media.

    Please ensure you indicate on your enrolment form if you do not wish your child’s photo/video to be used.

    Inappropriate use of social media from all students and parents is strongly discouraged. Photos taken on studio premises or at special events
    should only be shared on social media is appropriate and should represent KC’s School of Dance in a professional manner.

    Comments and photographs/videos of a negative nature towards students/teachers and KC’s School of Dance in general will not be tolerated.
    Any negative posts will be required to be taken down immediately.

    We encourage parents or guardians to assist with this issue on an ongoing basis.

Bullying

    Bullying will not be tolerated at KC’s School of Dance. We are working to eliminate bullying in our school and continue to educate our students
    on acceptable social behaviour and supporting one another as each student works to develop confidence in their learning and performances.

    We ask parents for their continued support with this issue. 

Smoking

Please note smoking is not allowed in or around KCs School of Dance. Please do not smoke outside the building where children are passing by.

Cancellation/Changes of Enrolment

Please provide cancellation or changes to your Enrolment in writing via email.

There are no refunds for cancellation of Enrolment, invoices are invoiced by the term.

Class Numbers

KCs School of Dance have the right to combine or cancel classes in the case of insufficient numbers and age groups are a guide only. Student will be placed in appropriate classes / level at the teachers’ discretion.
